The Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery

Having climbed too many stairs in the past few weeks, we decided that we would pass up going up the to of the Duomo...the Florence Cathedral...even though the views are said to be great. Instead this morning we settled for a visit inside the cathedral followed by a stroll around the city.

For the afternoon, we had a pre-booked visit to the Ufffizi Gallery...said to be the greatest collection of Italian paintings anywhere. We ended up spending at least two and half hours wandering through the gallery enjoying the art...and getting overtaken by the bus groups on "express visits".
