Castle in the Air

Today we visited Edinburgh Castle - an amazing place, perched high in the sky over Edinburgh. There is so much to see there that we were there all day. Mind you, it is hard to understand the significance of everything before you due to the complexity of Scottish history. Trying to work out who are the heroes and who villains is extremely difficult.

The Royal Palace that houses the Stone of Destiny and the Honours of Scotland

Inside the 12th Century St Margaret's Chapel, the oldest building on the site

One of the many cannon positions of the Forewall Battery

Frontal attack would have been difficult enough...

... and next to impossible from the side or the rear

  1. One mans hero is another mans villian - Scottish history depends on who's telling it. Glad you're having a great time and getting to so many interesting places. Its all so scenic
