Exploring our little corner of London

Fitzrovia may not be the most fashionable tourist area of London or, for that matter, that well known but it is a really great location. Although really bust by day, it is very quiet and night...and it is not very far from the busy heart.

Oxford Circus is only a short walk away to the south...and that is where we went first to buy a UK SIM for my phone. After that we went for a stroll, just looking around. We found ourselves in Carnaby Street...which despite the glitz, is a shadow of its former self...now it is just a collection of very commercial fashion business trying to trade on it's name fro the "swinging 60's".

From Carnaby Street we kept on walking through Piccadilly Circus until we reach The Mall where we turned towards Trafalgar Square. Here we sat for a while just absorbing the hustle and bustle of London...yes, we were definitely here and our holiday had begun.

After a little while, we left Nelson's Column behind and slowly made our way back to our B&B via the less well-known Cambridge Circus. Still somewhat jet-lagged, that evening we had a simple dinner followed by a short walk around Fitzrovia.
