In a way, today marks the start of our holiday proper as we head off out of London. After breakfast we packed our bags and checked out of our B&B. It was a sunny morning so we walked around to Euston towing our cases to catch a train to Birmingham. Having arrived in plenty of time, we stood around waiting until they announced our platform. We then had a long walk to the front of the train...the downside of traveling in the "quiet car".

An hour and half after leaving Euston, we were stepping off the train at Birmingham New Street. Then it was another drag of our cases around to the Budget office to pick up our car for the next 17 days. After a short delay while they brought a car out from the airport for us, we were off in our VW Passat heading south down the A435...destination Diane's in Radley. Looking for lunch, we eventually pulled off into the quaint village of Alcester.

After lunch we continued our journey south, passing through Broadway and stopping off at the rather amazing Broadway Tower looking out over the Cotswolds. Built in the late 18th Century, on a good day you can see 16 counties. We then continued of through the edge of the Cotswolds until we arrived in Radley.
