Au Revoir France

Our holiday in France has come to an end. We have had a really great time and will be back. The Loire Valley will be a "must" as there is still so much to see. We have some unfinished business in Lyon calling us for a stopover if we were in the area. Chamonix was fantastic and would be worth another visit if it wasn't for so many other alpine areas demanding a visit.

The people in France were really great and there is a lot of English spoken which makes things a bit easier...as do English translation menus. 

Getting around by train worked out really well, especially on the TGV. The old Intercity trains were really nice in First Class but hard to get into. These seem to be being replaced with TER trains which are much easier to get in and out of...but have very little difference between First and Second Class.
