We had been told everything should be fine with our train as it started it's journey before the strike was to begin...but you could never be too sure about it and also what would happen at 12:00.
We left on time and headed out along the Loire valley, making stops at several nondescript towns along the way. After crossing over into the Rhone valley, we arrived at Lyon Part-Dieu station a little over 5 hours after leaving Tours.
As we were leaving the station to catch a tram to our hotel, it was clear that we did have luck on our side...there were a lot of unhappy looking people milling around looking at screens wondering what was happening with their train.
Now that we are here in Lyon, our worries about the strike are almost over. We leave here on Saturday after the strike is finished so the only impact will be any disruption to the public transport here in Lyon.
Nice to see the sun shining.
